What is Core HR?
Core HR is the essential layer of HR software - employee records, leave and absence, compensation history, roles and permissions, and an audit trail - without add-ons like recruiting or payroll.
Core HR is what every company needs first, and often all a small team needs. It answers the daily questions: who is out next week, how much leave is left, who reports to whom, and what changed.
Full suites bundle recruiting, performance, and payroll on top. Those matter at scale, but a 5-100 person team usually gets more value from core HR done well than from a broad suite half-used.
