HREvio vs Factorial: an honest 2026 comparison for SMBs

We build HREvio, so read this page knowing who wrote it. We'll still point you to Factorial where it's the better fit, because a customer on the wrong tool churns in a month and helps nobody, us included.

The short version: Factorial is a broad per-user HR suite that grows expensive as you hire. HREvio is flat-rate core HR for SMBs that want the essentials done well and a bill that doesn't move. The pricing models are the real difference.

The pricing difference

Factorial prices per user. Its own pricing page says it "starts at $8 per month, per user", and OMR Reviews lists the Business plan at EUR 8.00 per user per month. Treat EUR 8/user as a floor: actual quotes are module-dependent and tiered data runs higher per user. There is also a seat minimum of roughly 10 to 19 users depending on country, so a team of 7 or 10 can end up paying for seats it doesn't use.

HREvio's prices are flat and on the pricing page. EUR 29 per month for up to 25 employees, EUR 49 for up to 100, EUR 99 for up to 250. Hiring your 51st person costs you nothing extra, and there is no seat minimum - a 5-person team pays the 5-person price.

Team sizeFactorial (per user, estimated floor)HREvio (flat)
10 employeesfrom ~EUR 80-160/month*EUR 29/month (Starter)
25 employeesfrom ~EUR 200/month*EUR 29/month (Starter)
50 employeesfrom ~EUR 400/month*EUR 49/month (Standard)
100 employeesfrom ~EUR 800/month*EUR 49/month (Standard)

*Floors based on Factorial's stated "from EUR 8/user/month" (OMR Reviews, as of June 2026); real quotes depend on modules and tier and typically run higher per user. Seat minimums of 10-19 apply. HREvio prices exclude VAT; annual billing saves ~17%.

At 50 employees HREvio Standard works out to EUR 0.98 per employee per month, and it keeps dropping as you hire. Per-user pricing does the opposite: every new hire raises the bill. We priced flat on purpose, so growing the team never means renegotiating the HR line item.

What Factorial has that HREvio doesn't

This list is real, so here it is without hedging.

  • Time tracking and shift planning (ours is on the roadmap, not shipped)
  • Recruiting and applicant tracking (on our roadmap)
  • Performance reviews and goals (a lightweight version is on our roadmap)
  • Expense management and payroll integrations
  • Document management and e-signatures
  • A wider integrations marketplace

If you need time tracking, recruiting, expenses, and a broad integration marketplace in one suite today, and you're comfortable with a per-user bill that grows as you hire, pick Factorial. It's a capable product. This page will still be here when you next compare the renewal against a flat price.

What HREvio does, and does well

Core HR that a 5-100 person company actually uses every week:

  • Employee directory with profiles, manager hierarchy, and an activity log of every change
  • Vacation and sick leave: requests, approvals, balances, accrual, carryover, and a full per-employee ledger
  • A team absence calendar plus public holidays for 48 countries, imported automatically
  • Compensation history with effective dating; salary amounts encrypted at rest
  • Roles and permissions (25 granular permissions), audit trail across the system
  • Self-serve billing by card, upgrade or cancel in-app, no sales call at any point
  • Interface in English, Ukrainian, Polish, and German

GDPR isn't a checkbox here. Hosting is on Hetzner in the EU, the data processing agreement is part of signup rather than a separate sales artifact, salary data is encrypted at rest, and the audit log masks encrypted fields automatically. We process EU employee data, so we built the product the way we'd want our own data handled.

Who should pick which

Pick Factorial if you want time tracking, recruiting, and expenses in one suite, you're past the seat minimum comfortably, and a per-user bill that scales with headcount is acceptable to your finance team.

Pick HREvio if you're a 5-100 person company that wants core HR (people, leave, compensation, audit) done well at one flat, predictable price, with no seat minimum and no sales call. You'll know within a week of the trial whether it fits.

The trial is 30 days, full Standard features, no credit card. After it ends your data goes read-only, and we send reminders before anything changes state. Nothing is deleted without warning and time to act.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Factorial cost?
Factorial prices per user. Its pricing page states it starts at $8 per user per month, and OMR Reviews lists the Business plan at EUR 8.00 per user per month (as of June 2026). Real quotes depend on the modules you take and run higher per user on upper tiers, and a seat minimum of roughly 10-19 users applies depending on country.
Is HREvio cheaper than Factorial for an SMB?
For most SMBs, yes, and the gap widens as you hire. HREvio is flat: EUR 29/month up to 25 employees, EUR 49 up to 100, EUR 99 up to 250, with no seat minimum. Factorial bills per user from about EUR 8/user with a 10-19 seat minimum, so a 25-person team pays roughly EUR 200/month or more versus HREvio's EUR 29.
Is HREvio a full replacement for Factorial?
No. HREvio covers core HR: employee records, leave management, absence calendar, compensation history, roles, and audit. It does not do time tracking, recruiting, or expenses yet. For core HR it replaces Factorial at a fraction of the cost; for the full suite it doesn't try to.
What is the catch with per-user HR pricing?
Two things. The bill grows every time you hire, so HR cost tracks headcount instead of value. And seat minimums mean smaller teams pay for seats they do not use. Flat per-company pricing avoids both: you pay one price for the whole plan and growing inside it is free.
What happens when the 30-day trial ends?
You can pay by card and continue, or your account goes read-only for a grace period before archiving. We email reminders before each step, and archived data is preserved well beyond that point, so nothing disappears the day the trial ends.
