HREvio vs Personio: an honest 2026 comparison for SMBs

We build HREvio, so read this page knowing who wrote it. We'll still tell you where Personio is the better choice, because a customer who picks the wrong tool churns in a month and helps nobody, including us.

The short version: Personio is a full HR suite for companies that have an HR department. HREvio is core HR for companies that have an office manager and a spreadsheet problem. The price difference follows from that.

The pricing difference

Personio doesn't publish prices. You request a demo, talk to sales, and get a quote. Third-party procurement data puts Personio's core HRIS at roughly EUR 250-400 per month for a 50-person company and EUR 500-800 for 100 people (independent estimates as of June 2026; Personio's actual quotes vary, and negotiated discounts of 15-30% are common). That last part matters: when discounts run that deep, the first quote is a starting position, not a price.

HREvio's prices are on the pricing page. EUR 29 per month for up to 25 employees, EUR 49 for up to 100, EUR 99 for up to 250. Flat. Hiring your 51st person costs you nothing extra. The CFO approves one line item once.

At 50 employees that's EUR 0.98 per employee per month on HREvio Standard. We think per-employee pricing punishes you for hiring, and we priced the product to make that point.

• Vacation and sick leave: requests, approvals, balances, accrual, carryover, and a full per-employee ledger
• A team absence calendar plus public holidays for 48 countries, imported automatically

• Roles and permissions (25 granular permissions), audit trail across the system
• Self-serve billing by card, upgrade or cancel in-app, no sales call at any point
• Interface in English, Ukrainian, Polish, and German

GDPR isn't a checkbox here. Hosting is on Hetzner in the EU, the DPA is part of signup rather than a separate sales artifact, salary data is encrypted, and the audit log masks encrypted fields automatically. We process EU employee data, so we built the product the way we'd want our own data handled.

Who should pick which

Pick Personio if you're past ~150 employees, have dedicated HR people, and need recruiting plus performance plus payroll under one roof. It's a serious suite and it earns its price at that scale.

Pick HREvio if you're a 5-100 person company tracking leave in spreadsheets or paying suite prices for the 40% of a suite you use. You'll know within a week of the trial whether it fits, because there's nothing to configure for a month.
