What is Annual leave carryover?

Leave carryover is the unused paid leave an employee is allowed to move into the next year, often capped at a set number of days or with an expiry date.

Carryover rules vary by company and country. A clear cap and expiry keep balances from growing without limit, and a good system applies the reset automatically at year end.
