HREvio vs PeopleForce: an honest 2026 comparison for SMBs

We build HREvio, so read this knowing who wrote it. Credit where it's due: PeopleForce publishes its prices, which already puts it ahead of the quote-only vendors. The honest difference here is the billing floor and the per-user model, not transparency.

The short version: PeopleForce is a capable per-user HR suite whose minimum charge makes it expensive for SMBs and cheap only once you pass ~50 users. HREvio is flat-rate core HR that is cheapest exactly where SMBs live.

The pricing difference

PeopleForce CoreHR Standard is $2.5 per employee per month, but it bills a $125/month minimum that covers up to 50 employees. So 25 employees and 50 employees both cost $125/month, and the headline "$2.5 per user" only becomes real value above 50 seats. The Professional plan is $3 per employee per month with a $150 minimum, and it is what gates eSignature, API access, webhooks, and corporate SSO (SAML). Modules like Recruit, Perform, Pulse, Time, and Desk are not included in the base price.

HREvio is flat, with no minimum. EUR 29 per month for up to 25 employees, EUR 49 for up to 100, EUR 99 for up to 250. A 25-person team pays the EUR 29 Starter price, not a floor designed around 50 seats.

25 employees$125/month* (minimum)EUR 29/month (Starter)
50 employees$125/month* (minimum)EUR 49/month (Standard)
100 employees$250/month*EUR 49/month (Standard)

*PeopleForce CoreHR Standard, $2.5/employee/month with a $125/month minimum covering up to 50 employees (peopleforce.io/pricing, as of June 2026). USD as published; $125 is roughly EUR 107-115 at mid-2026 rates. Add-on modules cost extra. HREvio prices exclude VAT; annual billing saves ~17%.

The pattern is the floor. Below 50 seats you pay for 50; above 50 the per-user rate finally works in your favor. HREvio has no floor, so an SMB pays for what it has, and growing inside a plan stays free.

What PeopleForce has that HREvio doesn't

This list is real, so here it is without hedging.

  • Recruiting and applicant tracking (the Recruit module, on our roadmap)
  • Performance reviews, goals, and reviews cycles (Perform module)
  • Employee engagement surveys (Pulse module)
  • Time tracking (Time module; ours is on the roadmap, not shipped)
  • A help-desk / employee service module (Desk)
  • Corporate SSO (SAML), API access, and webhooks on the Professional tier

If you want recruiting, performance, surveys, and SSO in one suite and you're comfortably past 50 employees where the per-user rate pays off, PeopleForce is a strong choice. This page will still be here if you're under 50 and the $125 floor starts to look like a tax.

What HREvio does, and does well

Core HR that a 5-100 person company actually uses every week:

  • Employee directory with profiles, manager hierarchy, and an activity log of every change
  • Vacation and sick leave: requests, approvals, balances, accrual, carryover, and a full per-employee ledger
  • A team absence calendar plus public holidays for 48 countries, imported automatically
  • Compensation history with effective dating; salary amounts encrypted at rest
  • Roles and permissions (25 granular permissions), audit trail across the system
  • Self-serve billing by card, upgrade or cancel in-app, no sales call at any point
  • Interface in English, Ukrainian, Polish, and German

GDPR isn't a checkbox here. Hosting is on Hetzner in the EU, the data processing agreement is part of signup rather than a separate sales artifact, salary data is encrypted at rest, and the audit log masks encrypted fields automatically. We process EU employee data, so we built the product the way we'd want our own data handled.

Who should pick which

Pick PeopleForce if you're past ~50 employees, want recruiting and performance modules in the same tool, and need SSO/SAML - the per-user rate and the module breadth start to earn their keep at that size.

Pick HREvio if you're a 5-50 person company that wants core HR done well at a flat price with no minimum and no sales call. At 25 people you pay EUR 29, not a 50-seat floor.

Frequently asked questions

How much does PeopleForce cost?
PeopleForce CoreHR Standard is $2.5 per employee per month with a $125/month minimum that covers up to 50 employees, so 25 and 50-person teams both pay $125/month and 100 pay $250. The Professional plan is $3/employee/month with a $150 minimum and adds eSignature, API, webhooks, and SSO. Add-on modules are extra (peopleforce.io/pricing, as of June 2026).
Does PeopleForce have a minimum charge?
Yes. CoreHR Standard bills a $125/month minimum covering up to 50 employees, and Professional a $150 minimum. That floor is why a 10 or 25-person team pays the same as a 50-person one. HREvio has no minimum: a 25-person team pays the EUR 29 Starter price.
Is HREvio a full replacement for PeopleForce?
No. HREvio covers core HR: employee records, leave management, absence calendar, compensation history, roles, and audit. It does not do recruiting, performance, surveys, or a help desk. For core HR it replaces PeopleForce at a lower price for SMBs; for the full module suite it doesn't try to.
Which is cheaper for a team under 50 people?
HREvio, by a wide margin. Under 50 employees PeopleForce charges its $125/month (CoreHR) or $150/month (Professional) minimum regardless of headcount, while HREvio is EUR 29/month up to 25 employees and EUR 49 up to 100.
What happens when the 30-day trial ends?
You can pay by card and continue, or your account goes read-only for a grace period before archiving. We email reminders before each step, and archived data is preserved well beyond that point, so nothing disappears the day the trial ends.
