HREvio vs HiBob: an honest 2026 comparison for SMBs

We build HREvio, so read this knowing who wrote it. HiBob is a genuinely strong product - we'll tell you exactly when it's worth its price and when it isn't for your size.

The short version: HiBob is a premium, mid-market platform with a culture and engagement focus. HREvio is flat-rate core HR for SMBs. The gap between them is mostly scale and budget.

The pricing difference

HiBob does not publish prices; it's quote-only with an implementation fee. Independent estimates put it around EUR 700/month for 50 employees (roughly EUR 14 per user), and broker data puts the per-employee rate at $16-25 plus a 10-20% implementation fee. Treat these as third-party estimates of negotiated pricing, not list prices.

HREvio's prices are flat and public. EUR 29/month up to 25 employees, EUR 49 up to 100, EUR 99 up to 250. No implementation fee, no sales call.

Estimated monthly cost by team size
Team sizeHiBob (estimated)HREvio (flat)
25 employeesquote-only, premium tierEUR 29/month (Starter)
50 employees~EUR 700/month* plus implementationEUR 49/month (Standard)
100 employeesquote-only, scales with headcountEUR 49/month (Standard)

*Third-party estimate as of June 2026 (per user ~EUR 14; broker data $16-25/employee/month plus a 10-20% implementation fee). HiBob does not publish list prices. HREvio prices exclude VAT; annual billing saves ~17%.

At 50 employees that's roughly EUR 700 plus setup for HiBob versus EUR 49 flat for HREvio. The gap buys HiBob's breadth and polish - worth it at the right scale, hard to justify for a 30-person team that needs leave tracking and a clean employee directory.

What HiBob has that HREvio doesn't

This list is real, so here it is without hedging.

  • Performance management, goals, and 1-on-1s
  • Employee engagement, surveys, and culture tools (its core strength)
  • Hiring/ATS and onboarding workflows
  • Compensation management and people analytics at depth
  • Workflow automation and a large integrations marketplace
  • Time tracking (ours is on the roadmap, not shipped)

If you're a funded, growing mid-market company that wants engagement, performance, and analytics in a polished platform and has the budget and an HR team to run it, HiBob earns its price. This page will still be here if it turns out to be more platform than an SMB needs.

What HREvio does, and does well

Core HR that a 5-100 person company actually uses every week:

  • Employee directory with profiles, manager hierarchy, and an activity log of every change
  • Vacation and sick leave: requests, approvals, balances, accrual, carryover, and a full per-employee ledger
  • A team absence calendar plus public holidays for 48 countries, imported automatically
  • Compensation history with effective dating; salary amounts encrypted at rest
  • Roles and permissions (25 granular permissions), audit trail across the system
  • Self-serve billing by card, upgrade or cancel in-app, no sales call at any point
  • Interface in English, Ukrainian, Polish, and German

GDPR isn't a checkbox here. Hosting is on Hetzner in the EU, the data processing agreement is part of signup rather than a separate sales artifact, salary data is encrypted at rest, and the audit log masks encrypted fields automatically. We process EU employee data, so we built the product the way we'd want our own data handled.

Who should pick which

Pick HiBob if you're past ~100 employees, culture and engagement are board-level priorities, and you have the budget and HR headcount to run a premium platform.

Pick HREvio if you're a 5-100 person team that needs core HR (people, leave, compensation, audit) done well at a flat price, hosted in the EU, without an implementation project or a sales cycle.

Frequently asked questions

How much does HiBob cost?
HiBob does not publish prices; it's quote-only with an implementation fee. Independent estimates put it around EUR 700/month for 50 employees (roughly EUR 14/user), with broker data at $16-25 per employee per month plus a 10-20% implementation fee (estimates as of June 2026, not list prices).
Is HREvio a HiBob alternative?
For core HR at an SMB budget, yes: employee records, leave, absence calendar, compensation history, roles, and audit at flat EUR 29-99/month. For HiBob's engagement, performance, and analytics depth, no - HREvio is focused core HR, not a culture and performance platform.
Is HiBob worth it for an SMB?
Usually not below ~100 employees. HiBob's strengths (engagement, performance, analytics) and its price assume an HR team and a budget. An SMB that needs leave tracking and an employee directory pays a premium for capacity it won't use.
What happens when the 30-day trial ends?
You can pay by card and continue, or your account goes read-only for a grace period before archiving. We email reminders before each step, and archived data is preserved well beyond that point, so nothing disappears the day the trial ends.
